Icy Blue Bride

INSPIRATION BOARD - ICE BLUE BRIDE
Welcome to January 2010! Christmas seems to be a distant memory now, but the winter weather doesn't seem to want to go away.
Well, its still snowing here in York! Although it looks pretty (whilst inside sipping on a hot chocolate) and like icing sugar sprinkled on the ground , it obviously has caused major headaches for a lot of people. I am now at the point that I would be very pleased to see the back of the white stuff. It will certainly give a few brides a wedding to remember, and lets hope for all the right reasons; happy memories and gorgeous winter wonderland pictures!
With this in mind, and with all the lovely snow pictures being posted all over the place it made me think of all the colours associated with winter weddings. These can range from your deep opulent colours, such as deep burgundies, plums, golds etc right through to your silvers and whites. A favourite colour choice in my eyes for a winter wedding; especially January time is blue, a lovely ice blue. This colour looks amazing against a white backdrop and you can throw in accents of silver and grey too. It can look chic and contemporary and can offer a fresh alternative to bridesmaids attire and ties/waistcoats for the boys. It doesnt mean that everything you choose should be blue, try to keep consistency through the day with different elements, such as stationery, flowers, maybe ribbon or cake decoration and bring in little touches, whichever works for you.
Well, we will see how long this snow lasts and I wish you all a safe and memorable January 2010!
